DQ178/40Y-TB multi-purpose hydraulic power tongs are open-end power tongs used for making and unmaking 2 7/8″～4″ drill pipes, 3 1/2″～4 1/2″ tubings and 4 1/2″～7″ casings in oilfield drilling and well repair operations.

The main and backup tongs are combined into a rigid support structure. The upper and lower tongs are combined. When clamping the pipe column, the main and backup tongs are connected and displaced reliably. The tong head adopts a brake band braking method, which has a large braking torque, simple operation, and is easy to adjust and replace. The back tong clamping coupling adopts a clamping cylinder to push the paddle action device, which is reliable.

The hydraulic system control adopts hydraulic valve group to ensure the reliable action of the back-up tongs. By adjusting the oil supply pressure, the optimal torque required for the make-up of various steel grade pipes can be obtained. The front and rear displacement of the combined tongs adopts the transfer cylinder push device for users to choose to use. It is easy to operate, reduces labor intensity, and is labor-saving and safe.

The main tongs are equipped with a self-locking linkage device between the safety door and the hydraulic valve group. When the safety door is in the open position, the handle of the manual reversing valve of the power tongs is in the locked position, which is convenient and safe to operate (this device is a patented product developed by our company).

The whole machine is equipped with a hydraulic torque indicating instrument, and has a torque meter's revolution measurement interface and a torque meter installation interface for users to choose and use, making it easy to realize computer management.
