DQ178/40Y hydraulic power tongs are open-end power tongs used for making and unmaking 2 7/8″～4″ drill pipes, 3 1/2″～4 1/2″ tubings and 4 1/2″～7″ casings in oilfield drilling and workover operations.

The main tongs and backup tongs are equipped with inner curved rollers for climbing, and the two-way clamping mechanism clamps the pipe column, coupling or joint, with simple structure and reliable operation. The reset knobs of the main and backup tongs are designed as reset handles, which are flexible to operate and reset easily and safely. With the extended front and rear guide rods, the backup tongs can clamp the coupling or joint as well as the pipe body.

The main tongs are equipped with a self-locking linkage device between the safety door and the hydraulic valve group. When the safety door is in the open position, the handle of the manual reversing valve of the power tongs is in the locked position, which is convenient and safe to operate (this device is a patented product developed by our company).

The whole machine is equipped with a hydraulic torque indicating instrument, and has a torque meter's revolution measurement interface and a torque meter installation interface for users to choose and use, making it easy to realize computer management.
